IAPMO STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
20 Day Public Review

Input from inspection officials, product manufacturers and engineering professionals is an important part of the IAPMO standards development process. In the interest of increasing the responsiveness of the IAPMO standards process to IAPMO standards user needs, we are taking advantage of the Internet. Proposed IAPMO IGCs and standards or changes are now posted on this website for 20 days prior to publication

Inspection officials, product manufacturers, engineering professionals, and other interested parties are invited to submit comments to the IAPMO Standards Review Committee (SRC) regarding the posted documents. The SRC will review ALL comments submitted. The SRC will address any substantiated health or safety issues raised, before the new or revised standard is published.

Comments can be submitted by email, fax, or regular mail. All comments must include the following:

1. Name, company (if applicable), and contact information of commenter (please include email address if available).
2. Specific technical issues/ health and safety concerns relating to the proposed new standard or the proposed changes.
3. Include any back-up information needed to support your comments. Email attachments can be submitted in Word or .pdf format.
4. Include proposed changes to the revision language that will correct the health or safety issue to the satisfaction of the commenter.

All commenters will be notified as to the date and time of the SRC meeting at which their comments will be reviewed. All commenters are encouraged to attend to discuss their comments.

Please note that comments on proposed revisions must relate to the revisions themselves. Commenters wishing to submit changes to other sections not part of the proposed revisions will be asked to resubmit their comments as a separate proposed change to the standard.

We hope that this forum will provide an expedited opportunity for all IAPMO members and others to give valuable input to the SRC without having to wait for IAPMO’s annual conference. It is in this way that all of us, working together, can continue to develop some of the best standards in the plumbing and mechanical code industry.
