The provisions of the IGC are to allow for the establishment of technology for Plastic DWV to Sewer Adapters. The provision of the IGC is not intended to prevent the use of alternate design, assembly configuration, method or material, provided any such alternate meets the performance and minimum specification criteria outlined herein.

This Standard specifies requirements for the installation of thrust blocking for ductile iron pipe with elastomeric gasketed joints and fittings and PVC piping with solvent cemented or elastomeric gasketed joints intended for cold water building supply and yard piping. Thrust blocks covered by this standard prevent separation of joints and pipe movement by transferring the resultant thrust force at a bend to the undisturbed soil behind the thrust block. The bearing strength of the soil is expressed in pounds per square foot. Therefore, the area behind the thrust block must engage enough soil area to resist the resultant thrust force at a change in direction.

This Standard covers condensate traps and overflow switches intended for use in air conditioning system applications and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings. Products covered by the scope of this standard may include waterless condensate traps, special purpose PVC fittings and/or condensate trap and/or overflow switch assemblies.

The factory applied AL and PE or PEX coated SDR9 PEX tubing, covered by this standard, is intended for use in all installations when installed in compliance with the Uniform Plumbing Code as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and the manufacturer’s installation instructions. All polyethylene (PE) or crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) coating shall be applied in the plant expressly for this work with approved materials. The adhesive and PE or PEX coating shall be applied in one continuous operation by passing aluminum wrapped tubing through a machine expressly designed for this purpose. The coating described in this standard is designed to protect and support the distribution tubing. Stripping of coating to expose PEX tubing prior to applying fittings shall not reduce, affect or damage the outside diameter of the PEX tubing.

Flow control water conservation systems designed to reduce water consumption, thereby, achieving water conservation, reducing gallons per minute in non‐volumetric applications during high periods of demand. An example of flow control water conservation systems covered by these standards is shown in Figure 1 and may be constructed, as follows:

Note: This Standard supplements requirements for corrugated thermoplastic prefabricated septic tanks, sewage holding tanks, and effluent chambers specified under CSA B66. This standard is not intended to address corrugated thermoplastic prefabricated septic tanks, sewage holding tanks, and effluent chambers manufactured using molding techniques other than compression molding.

This Standard covers a standalone point of use solids and grease collection devices, but it may also be used in conjunction with a larger centralized grease interceptor downstream when required by the code or the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

This Standard applies to wastewater solid-liquid separators and optional complementary components used to assemble wastewater management systems, and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, testing, and markings. The complementary components covered in this Standard are

(a) wastewater holding tanks;

(b) sewage pumps; and

(c) wastewater heat exchangers.

This Standard also specifies requirements for system accessories such as controllers, pipe, pipe fittings, and couplings, necessary for the complete installation of the system.

This Standard covers performance testing for products producing sterile or ultrapure water using tap water as a source. Ultrapure water parameters covered in this standard include conductivity, TDS, pH, TOC, Sodium, Chloride, Silica, Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) bacteria, Virus (MS‐2; ATCC 15597‐B1), and Endotoxin (from Escherichia coli ATCC 33780).

This Standard covers pour flush plastic latrine toilet fixtures intended for indoor, and outdoor applications, and specifies requirements for materials, construction, performance, testing, and markings.

This Standard covers digital mixing valves for recirculating hot water systems intended for multi-unit residential and commercial/institutional applications and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.

This Standard covers the shower head reservoir for gravity fed water capturing devices intended for shower applications and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.
